Hidden Door 2026 will take place from Wednesday 3rd – Sunday 7th June 2026 at The Paper Factory, a massive industrial site in west Edinburgh.
As always, the festival will be FREE to explore during the day, with tickets required for those staying for the evening programme after 6pm.
Hidden Door is a volunteer-run charity with every ticket sale going straight to supporting our artists and contributors.
Every night will present a myriad of unique creative collaborations, visual art installations, pop-up performances, spoken word and dance pieces, plus a different musical line-up offering plenty of choice to suit all tastes:
Wednesday 3 June – The festival kicks off with enigmatic electro-pop sensation BIG WETT and experimental artist ICHI taking the concept of a one-man band to new limits with his quirky handmade instrument inventions.
Thursday 4 June – Thursday brings punk duo Cowboy Hunters along with a mystery headliner to be revealed soon.
Friday 5 June – Catch local dream pop duo Sarah/Shaun, electronic genre hopper Makeness and Norwegian singer-songwriter, producer and novelist Jenny Hval before feminist DJ collective EPiKA get the party started in the club space.
Saturday 6 June – Skye natives Valtos present their acclaimed High Water Mark show, fusing traditional Gaelic folk with club-ready electronic music. Later that night in the club space, Fred Deakin, the legend behind Lemon Jelly, will take to the decks to play us out.
Sunday 7 June – the Paper Factory’s last shift welcomes the endless energy of Tinderbox Orchestra, harpist Dara Dubh and the hypnotic orchestral pop of Lauren Auder.
We’ve got many more surprises to be revealed in the coming weeks, including the ten bands selected from over 300 applications to our open call, in partnership with Creative Edinburgh and the National Centre for Music.
With an ongoing commitment to inclusivity, Hidden Door has expanded its concessionary ticket options, ensuring that financial barriers and accessibility won’t prevent anyone from experiencing the event:
We are thrilled to be returning to this huge industrial site for one final shift in 2026.
We called it The Paper Factory because it’s a huge former paper and cardboard box manufacturing facility, with a mix of warehouses, factory floors, offices and outhouses spread across a 15 acre site.
The Paper Factory is well served by a variety of public transport links, with frequent bus, tram and train services all stopping nearby, making it easy to reach within minutes from the city centre. It’s also right on the main line from Glasgow and the west.
